2012, Paper and wire, 212 x 24 cm

Novena: nine days of devotion. Each column represents a single day of labor; each sheet of paper an attempt at prayer. The paper itself is blank, the underlying intentions not written, but considered in the moment of creation; the folds bear witness to the act of devotion. Its whiteness speaks to the intended purity of prayer, but also to the possibility of its silence.
